The Distribution Manager is responsible to ensure that inventory at our Emerging Market Distribution Centers and Warehouses is maintained at optimal levels that company goals and customer requirements can be met.
The incumbent evaluates and recommends physical distribution strategies to support customer requirements; develops and implements process improvement projects to achieve cost reductions, improved quality, on-time-deliveries and maximum space utilization; ensures the finished goods inventory integrity.
The incumbent takes a Leadership role to drive CPI initiatives that will contribute to improve the quality of customer satisfaction and administration effectiveness throughout EMEAI.
Monitoring the performance of all logistics activities in all areas of responsibility will be instrumental to this position.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- High focus on Inventory management with special attention to Stock availability and product scrapping as well as inventory accuracy
- Establishes warehouse standards, procedures, performance levels and documentation requirements
- Optimize Logistics cost and maintain Transportation Quality
- Lead the Emerging Market Logistics department resources to ensure effective support to customers in close collaboration with the countries and USA teams as well as third party partners.
- Provides guidance to staff to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
- Ensure work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules
- Responsible for hiring, firing and disciplinary decisions affecting employees
- Act as a key driver to develop strategic goals to improve the satisfaction of our customers.
- Develop/improve the competencies of employee’s and team efficiency
- Make sure that all necessary Procedures/Work Instructions are in place for all tasks to be performed in the department.
- Take a leadership role in identified major projects which will bring improved customer satisfaction and leveraged expense costs to the organization
- Ensure physical inventories and cycle counts are timely done and discrepancies identified and understood.
- Ensure development & maintenance of KPI’s to provide visibility and measure departments and individuals performance.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Business degree and some years of relevant experience in a supply chain environment
- Analytical and Leadership skills
- Proven people management experience (also remotely)
- Very good communication skills in English both written and verbal
- Customer oriented
- Computer systems literate
- Strong organizational skills
- Team player
- Additional language(s) will be a plus
Based in Nyon, this position requires travel across EMEAI
