BASIC PURPOSE

To support business managers and regional finance director and provide leadership to a local accounting team in maintenance of internal controls to insure accuracy and predictability of results, to timely report actual results and forecasts, to perform analysis of unfavorable variations and to determine countermeasures to eliminate them.

NATURE AND SCOPE

Implement and continuously improve internal controls that insure accurate reporting and proper safeguarding of company assets.
Prepare consolidations of results and forecast
Provide accurate information such that the Profit Plan (Budget) can be adjusted on a monthly basis to reflect changing business conditions (revenue and margin) and identify variations in planned operating expenses
Analyze regional and country variations from forecasts and prior periods to provide accurate explanations for variances and support country manager and regional managers in determining countermeasures
Provide leadership to improve local financial results in the area of Revenue, Operating Profit & Working Capital.
Define and provide leadership to implement and improve a process to provide forecast accuracy

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 8 years experience in Accounting/Controlling
University degree with specialization in Finance / Accounting
Experience in a large multinational environment is a strong asset
Strong Leadership skills and ability to “make things happens” (this position does not involve team management but continuous interaction within a matrix organization)
Demonstrated experiences and results in providing leadership to improve internal controls for increased safeguarding of company assets
Deep knowledge of US GAAP, local statutory requirements and processes that provide excellent Internal Controls
Fluent in English, French, other languages are an asset
Use of financial reporting tools, MS Office (Excel advanced level) and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) literate
