Senior System & Storage Administrator

Your Mission

According to MIG’s values (innovation expertise and long term focus leadership, integrity and excellence), document and maintain the physical infrastructure (Windows System including Active Directory, Exchange 2010, DFS) as well as the virtual Infrastructure (VMware) and the storage systems (NetApp, IBM DS, EMC, HP). Ensure an adequate backup.  

Identify new requirements, ways of improvement, provide design and architecture and provide level 3 support to company users.

Summary of tasks and responsibilities

• Ensure proper application of documented procedures and policies
• Define the architecture to meet the performance and uptime requirements of the systems
• Liaise with users to understand the requirements and the proposed improvements
• Define backup and recovery procedures to follow company’s requirements
• Identify any extra need for resources
• Identify any necessary training or clarification in order to carry out the activity

Your profile

• Bachelor in IT or a diploma deemed equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience with Windows Servers and Active Directory (MCSE certification preferred)
• Experience of at least 2 years on VMware is mandatory (VCP certification is a plus)
• Working knowledge of at least 2 of the following systems: Netapp, IBM storage, EMC or HP
• Experience in designing and applying quality procedures and processes (ISO; ITIL)
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
• Ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical developments
• Organization & project management skills
• Ability to document processes and procedures
• Travels within Switzerland required
