Design Engineer

The company

Our Customer is the world’s leading provider of severe service control valve solutions. Our customer develops, designs, and manufactures a wide range of valves for use in the nuclear industry, power industry, oil and gas industry, and pulp and paper plants worldwide. The European Competence Center for nuclear industry is based in Zurich-Area and includes development, production and implementation of new systems, spare parts and retrofits. Highest requirements concerning quality and appliance to regulations are typical in this market.

Due to the continuously growing demand for energy, we are in the fortunate position to be able to strengthen our Engineering team with a highly-motivated Mechanical Engineer (graduate)

 

Responsibilities

  • You will calculate and design valves, either independently or in a team, to meet customers' specifications for highly stressed steam and water applications.
  • You will select materials taking in consideration stress, specification, producibility and availability in accordance with current regulations.
  • You will produce project-based documentation, like operating manuals, data sheets and specifications.
  • You will assume technical responsibility for the projects assigned to you from receipt of order to completion of manufacturing and will therefore be in constant contact with all internal departments.
  • You will be in constant contact with our suppliers and our other manufacturing sites.

 

 The Profile

  • You will have basic technical training and will have an Engineering degree specializing in Mechanical Engineering.
  • You will enjoy applying your specialist knowledge of hydrodynamics and thermal dynamics. You will have good verbal and written knowledge of German and English and you will be able to use both CAD (3D) and MS Office programs.
  • You will be versatile, creative and able to work under pressure. You will be prepared to undertake further training and will regard innovation as a challenge.
  • Ideally you will be familiar with regulations, such as ASME, AD2000, EN12516 and PED 97/23, IBR.
