The Position

This is a newly created role in the Roche Diagnostics (DIA) Division and you will have the opportunity to shape the role as it evolves. As a member of the DIA’s Global Quality & Regulatory, Product Sustainability & Compliance Chapter, you will oversee and ensure the implementation of Business Continuity Management (BCM) at the Divisional level to deliver strategy, objectives, and key results. The BCM Network Lead will define the Diagnostic division’s strategy and provide central coordination for setting objectives and key results. Ensuring efficiency in local implementation of critical BCM activities will also be a focus. The BCM Network Lead represents the Diagnostics Division in the global BCM governance board. The BCM Network Lead is recognized internally as an authority and thought leader with skills and expertise that cuts across multiple disciplines including: crisis communications, enterprise risk management and project management.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively prepare and ensure that the Roche Diagnostics organisation (Business areas, Regions, Global and Group Functions) have the business continuity capabilities to achieve the delivery of key products and services to customers when faced with a serious business disruption / disastrous event

  • Contributes to the identification of innovative solutions that address complex operational issues affecting business resilience.

  • Provides oversight with goals and metrics to:

    • Set, communicate and track group level OKRs

    • Collect metrics from all DIA organisations

    • Report to Senior Leadership on divisional performance

    • Responsible for the DIA BCM portfolio definition, review process, and critical portfolio list

  • Provides strategic VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, and Catalyst) leadership, direction, subject matter expertise, and actionable guidance for business continuity such as:

  • Effectively translates current and evolving requirements and associated industry standards into easily understandable guidance

Moreover you bring:

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in the relevant subject matter area(s), with 10 or more years of experience in healthcare industry or chemistry, biology or related expertise a plus

  • Working with diverse senior leaders in a matrixed, international and multicultural environment in the area of Business Continuity and/or Risk Management

  • Highly developed VACC leadership skills and people influencing skills for a matrixed environment; seeking to understand different perspectives and needs, gain broad partner buy-in, and co-create Experience in developing, implementing, managing, monitoring, oversight of complex internal and external compliance related programs

  • Ability to deliver a strategic vision with outstanding outcomes, while being aware and sensitive to cultural differences and mentalities

  • Expert communicator, ability to influence various complex internal/external stakeholders in a matrix environment

  • Ability to work independently and influence without authority; highly developed competencies in thinking strategically, analytically and innovatively
