Direct medical affairs activities across all relevant BUs in EEMEAC.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Contributes to review and sign off of relevant regional Scientific Communications (eg. Regional event HOTP) and ensuring alignment with BUs
  • Engagement across all BUs in order to compliantly interface with regional experts such as the regional Proctor community and any HCPs engaged with EW sponsored Clinical Studies
  • Reviews and determines the relevance of and potential support provided to Investigator Initiated Study
  • Seeks to inform and support the evolution of the regional strategy ensuring balanced engagement with all relevant External Stakeholders including HCPs and Health Policy stakeholders
  • Has overall responsibility of developing related systems, planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, recommending and implementing changes to methods through manager(s) and/or experienced professionals
  • Set overall EEMEAC medical affairs strategy including efforts to optimize processes by assessing needs and developing and leading implementations.
  • Plan and direct strategic activities including prioritizing and selecting appropriate projects with overall responsibility for compliantly meeting business objectives. Leads in identifying risk, developing complex mitigation strategies, best practices, alternative solutions, resolving issues, etc. in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix
  • Analyze, formulate and present recommendations to advise and guide executive level leadership; develop and deliver executive level communication
  • Act as a resource and provide expert medical and scientific support to all relevant teams within the region and outside of the region in Global BUs and Functions including Medical Affairs, Publications, Clinical Development, R&D, Regulatory, Global Strategic Marketing, EU/ROW Regional Marketing, and Market Access / Public Affairs

What you'll need:

  • Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent preferred
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or medical device industry preferred

  • Proven track record in building a medical affairs organization
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, at the highest level of the organization
  • Proven successful project management leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Expert understanding of cardiovascular diseases and therapies
  • Ability to work and excel within a diverse, complex, cross cultural, fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
  • Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters
