 We are currently looking for a Purchasing Manager

 JOB DESCRIPTION

The Purchasing Manager’s role is to enforce the strategies, policies and procedures that guide the acquisition of goods and services for the company. This is a working management position, meaning the Purchasing Manager will issue, negotiate and award RFQ/RFPs, POs, and contracts while managing a small staff of 3 resources and reporting departmental activities to the Supply Chain Manager. In addition, the Purchasing Manager will pursue the development of Asian Sourcing.

 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for overall team’s capability to identify, evaluate, and verify the capabilities of suppliers in a specific category and how these capabilities relate to business partner requirements ;
• Responsibility for full RFP process included price and contract negotiation ;
• Assure that PO issuance is done at the state of the art ;
• Works closely with supplier contacts and internal partners to effectively resolve any issues with existing suppliers and manage risk exposure and supplier performance issues ;
• Establish and/or manage the purchasing policies and procedures of the department ;
• Create a high-energy and driven for results Purchasing department which is focused on continuous cost-savings process ;
• Works closely with internal R&D partners to effectively resolve any issues with existing suppliers or proposes new suppliers while managing risk exposure and technical issues ;
• Develop and maintain good supplier relationships.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• A degree in purchasing and a solid technical background
• 5+ years procurement or materials management experience
• 3 - 5 years management experience (an asset)
• Experience working with ERP system
• Strong working knowledge of and proven hands-on experience in purchase planning, forecasting, price and contract negotiations.
• Strong total cost and price analysis skills
• Proven experiences in electronic, plastics and mechanical low cost market, Asian is a plus
• Knowledge of the medical technology sector is a plus
• Proactive, rigorous and result-oriented
• Fluent in English and French, German is a plus
• Strong oral and written communication skills
