Job summary

Based in Geneva, this is a position that will help the Business Units in the EMEA region manage their FX exposure.

 The FX team is looking for someone who will help and assist the EMEA FX manager, based in London, to fulfil the daily tasks and assist in new projects that the FX hedging desk is facing. Daily tasks will include the execution of 3^rd party hedges and helping the Commodity Traders manage their maturing risk and reconciling their net exposure.

The candidate will work closely with the Business Units Commodity Traders, Financial Controllers, Risk Managers and EMEA Treasury.

Responsibilities

The Assistant FX manager is responsible for:

• Participating in the hedging activities
  • Implement Noble Group FX hedging Policy
  • Execute FX hedging transactions when required
  • Monitoring FX market situation, collect and communicate relevant macroeconomic information to the internal clients of the Grains businesses.
  • Assisting the FX manager to advise the business line on FX hedging strategies
  • Establish a robust process for the automated production of FX exposure reports.

 Your profile

• The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to understand the financial markets on a basic level and ideally have some practical experience in executing external FX trades.
• The candidate must have an understanding of basic accounting standards, balance sheet, P/L accounting and reconciliations.  Preferably having performed a middle office role for a trading based business.
• The candidate with degree level qualifications, ideally accounting or economics based, should have a minimum of 2years of work experience.
• Experience in commodity trading industry (preferably in controlling area) is a significant advantage. We are looking for a candidate who will have the ability to create and build a robust process for businesses that are both growing and evolving. The role will be part of a team (Risk and finance and operations) ensuring all the EMEA controllers are monitoring / reporting their FX exposures accurately and promptly.
• The candidate will work closely with the controllers of the commodity desks / business units, the accounting department, and of course with the other members of the treasury and the Group treasury worldwide.
• The successful candidate – , will operate autonomously in Geneva and will need to execute FX hedging transaction in the marketplace, which means he / she should act quickly and precisely even under pressure.  Confidence and self motivation are important characteristics.
• Proficiency with Excel is necessary and experience with using Bloomberg is preferred.
• Language skills - Fluency in English. Additional language skills, especially French, helpful.   
• Writing skills - Strong clear and concise writing skills a must.
• Interpersonal skills – good social skills, easy to work with, good personality.
