As Head of Accounting for Otis SA, you will be reporting to CFO for Otis SA and will lead and manage all aspects of the accounting department, providing strategic financial insights, overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations (US GAAP / Local GAAP), and supporting the company's growth and financial objectives.

Your accounting skills will also enable you to provide effective support to our CFO on issues relating to mergers, acquisitions, investigations, analyses, reconciliations, etc.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial advice to the company's senior management team, influencing decision-making and business strategy with in-depth financial analysis and insights

2. Accounting Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, accounts payable, and receivable

3. Financial Reporting and Analysis (Statutory): Lead the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring they are completed accurately and on schedule. Includes the differences between Local GAAP and US GAAP

4. Fixed Assets: Oversee the Management of Company’s Fixed Assets, ensure accurate tracking, valuation, and depreciation of physical assets in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations

5. Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee the company's tax planning and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns and effective management of tax liabilities

6. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement

7. Process Improvement: Continually evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and provide better financial insights

8. Internal Control Compliance: Work closely with Internal Corporate Controller group supporting together with the internal control lead the compliance with our corporate and local financial and accounting policies

9. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders for financial matters

10. Risk Management: Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company, implementing strategies to mitigate risks while maximizing financial performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is essential
  • Fluency in both French & English, German and Italian is a plus
  • Extensive experience in accounting leadership and good understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing, percentage of completion, and project-based financial management
  • Strong understanding of economic, Tax and banking processes
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead a team and collaborate with other departments
  • Highly motivated and target driven, strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial concepts and data into actionable business strategies
