Position Summary

The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé's leading R&D centre for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home.

As an R&D Master Intern for Immersive Technologies, you will be responsible for designing and creating user-friendly and interactive experiences for VR applications. You will ensure the creation of VR experiences that are accessible and engaging for all users while utilizing technical skills in 3D modeling, animation, and virtual environment design. In this position, you will be an active member of a cross-functional team involved in the development of new coffee machines and will have the chance to contribute to Nestlé's technological advancements.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Master Intern for Immersive Technologies

  • Review 3D model CAD data, optimize 3D model and ensure visual quality of mechanical aspect and textures
  • Create interaction within the virtual environment based on a user journey you defined in collaboration with the project manager and the designers
  • Organize consumer test, evaluate the results, and optimize user journey
  • Import machine from 3D model, design surrounding environment, create interaction with the machine (i.e. grab a cup), review final quality of the simulation
  • Program VR experiences

What will make you successful

  • Ideally a master's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Proficiency with VR development tools and platforms such as Unity, Unreal Engine, and Oculus SDK
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, C++, or JavaScript
  • Experience with 3D modeling and animation software (e.g., Blender, Maya)
  • Familiarity with VR hardware including headsets, sensors, and controllers
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Passion for virtual reality and a keen interest in emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles for VR applications
  • Fluent in English
