Laboratory Technician in the Life Sciences

Job Description:

Amazentis is recruiting an independent Laboratory Technician with solid expertise with in vitro pharmacology, molecular biology and microscopy to join our dynamic company.

You will be conducting research and development in an innovation-driven environment. You will be supported by experienced scientists for the implementation of cell-based assays and analysis of preclinical and clinical samples using a variety of techniques.

The position is within an international team of collaborators with scientific background on mitochondrial function and muscle biology. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall research and development efforts of the company.

Major responsibilities include:

Perform in-vitro cell-based assays suitable for low or semi-throughput screening using the following tools:Molecular and cellular biology experiments, mammalian cell culture, generation of stable cell lines, cryo-stock, pharmacology experiments in 96-well formats (screening), protein biochemistry, Wide-field/confocal microscopy, FACS analysis, cell sorting, micro-plate reader.
Analyze preclinical rodent samples using a variety of techniques (qPCR; Western Blot, ELISA, histology)
Participate in data analysis (statistical analysis and graphical presentation of data)
Participate to lab maintenance and duties such as the ordering or preparation of reagents
Project management: organization of the experiments, respect of the timelines, calculation of budgets, presentation of the results to the collaborators
Build close interactions with the other scientists

Professional requirements:

Laboratory technician certificate
At least 5 years of wet-lab experience in a molecular and cellular biology lab, with techniques including some of the following: molecular and cellular biology experiments, mammalian cell culture, generation of stable cell lines, cryo-stock, pharmacology experiments in 96-well formats (screening), protein biochemistry (Western Blot, ELISA), Wide-field/confocal microscopy, FACS analysis, cell sorting, micro-plate reader.
Candidate is expected to be very well organized and methodical, able to work with big sample batches, precise schedules, and on several projects in parallel.
Fluent spoken and written English is required (international team). Fluency in French is a plus.
Familiarity with basic software including excel, word, prism is required.

Start Date: Immediately

Working permit: Swiss nationality, Permit B (European) or C

Rate of employment: 50%

Term: Fixed-term (CDD) 1-year contract, with the possibility to extend

Location: Geneva region

Other: Driving license and car are preferred
