Job Description

At Syngenta Group, we are committed to excellence in all aspects of our operations, with a particular focus on the health, safety, and environmental impact of our activities. We are currently seeking a dedicated Site HSE Specialist to join our team at our headquarters in Basel (HQ) and ensure the health, safety, environment, and security (HSES) of all employees, visitors, and assets within the office premises.

In this role, you will ensure that the HSES regulations, policies, and best practices are implemented and adhered to, and develops and implements effective strategies to mitigate risks and promotes a culture of safety.

Additionally, you will also support the HSES and FM Communication Lead in implementing the Group Facilities Management (GFM) and Site HSES communication strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

  • HSES Compliance: Support ensuring compliance with all relevant local, regional, and national HSES regulations, standards, and guidelines. Regularly review and update HSES policies and procedures to align with changing requirements.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Support comprehensive risk assessments (360 review) to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate control measures. Implement risk management strategies to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental impacts.
  • Training and Awareness: Support developing and delivering HSES training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, environmental stewardship, and security protocols.
  • Contractor Management: Supporting the HSES performance of contractors and service providers working on-site. Ensure they adhere to HSES standards and contractual obligations. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance.
  • Support the HSES and Communication Lead in all communication needs.

Qualifications

  • Working experience in an HSE and Communication role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Fluent in German and English language
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Quick learner and ability to work alone and in a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
