General
Description
The
position
is
a
teaching
role
to
provide
necessary
cover
for
Grade
9
MYP
Science
classes.
The
successful
applicant
should
be
available
for
an
immediate
start.
Initially
the
role
will
be
40
December
15th
2023.
The
Cover
Teacher
for
the
High
School
works
in
collaboration
with
the
Subject
Lead
and
wider
science
department.
The
role
may
require
longer
term
cover
for
absent
colleagues
and/or
additional
hours
for
general
cover
may
also
be
available.
The
Cover
Teacher
for
the
High
School
is
expected
to:
Working
with
ISZL
Students
●
Teach
MYP
Science
in
the
High
School
and
maintain
curriculum
documentation
for
these
courses.
●
Demonstrate
a
commitment
to
student
centred
and
inquiry
driven
pedagogy.
●
Students
should
be
encouraged
to
appreciate
the
international
dimensions
of
Science
and
the
multiplicity
of
its
cultural
and
historical
perspectives.
●
Offering
regular,
written,
formative
feedback
on
student
progress.
●
Demonstrate
effective
classroom
management
that
shows
an
understanding
of
the
academic,
social
and
emotional
dimensions
of
learning.
●
Contribute
to
the
smooth
running
of
the
school
through

teaching
qualification

certification

experience
would
include
higher
level
biology
such
as
IB/AP

essential

and
other
meetings
as
necessary
●
Support
students
and
faculty
in
outdoor
learning
and
duties
●
Liaise
with
Technology
Support
to
ensure
a
full
understanding
of
the
educational
technology
used
at
ISZL

High
