THE POSITION

We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Legal Counsel to join us at our global headquarter in Basel, Switzerland. You will be an integral part of Avolta’s global legal team with a particular focus on the legal affairs of our Swiss retail and F&B business, while also supporting our global functions at the headquarter.

The role offers a rewarding opportunity to grow and develop together with our company as we embark on our next chapter of growth and transformation following the recent business combination of our Dufry and Autogrill businesses. The position will allow you to deliver value from day one through innovative, commercially oriented legal thinking and close collaboration with key stakeholders across a broad range of legal and business matters. To succeed, your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, international business environment is key.

YOUR ROLE

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day legal advice to Avolta’s Swiss travel retail and F&B businesses with a focus on commercial legal matters, concession/lease agreements with airports, railway stations and other landlords, employment law, and corporate law. You may also be involved in legal matters in other European countries.
  • Preparation, review and negotiation of a broad range of legal agreements and other documents for the global HQ function, including franchise agreements, supply contracts, guarantees and other finance agreements, IT agreements, and partnership and cooperation agreements.
  • Employment law support to our Swiss HR and global HR functions.
  • Transactional legal support (in collaboration with other legal department members) on finance, M&A and other strategic projects.
  • Support with a broad range of Swiss corporate legal matters, including internal re-organizations, corporate housekeeping and signature processes.
  • Dispute resolution and related management of external counsel in Switzerland.
  • Legal research on a broad range of Swiss legal issues and keeping abreast of legal developments in Switzerland.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Our ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • 4+ years of legal experience in a multinational corporate environment or with a top law firm.
  • MLaw degree from a Swiss university and admitted to the bar.
  • Proven experience in handling complex commercial legal, employment law and corporate law matters; additional background in M&A, dispute resolution and/or SIX regulations would be a plus.
  • Excellent English and German drafting skills; French or Spanish would be an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic international business environment.
  • A flexible, solutions-oriented and commercial mindset with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

If you are excited for an opportunity to take the next step in your career with a dynamic and diverse global company based in Switzerland, we look forward to receiving your application.

Kindly include your motivation letter with your application to ensure your consideration in the screening process.
