Assistant to the Development Director - Special Initiatives (6 months contract)

To complete our Development team, we are looking for a:

Assistant to the Development Director - Special Initiatives (6 months contract)
Full-time - 40 hours

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute fundraising actions and programmes (capital and revenue), communications programmes in support of fundraising and development programmes across the community
  • Focused on special initiatives to support the launch of the new Development Strategy
  • Support the Development Director in designing and implementing the Development Strategy
  • Identification and research of prospective donors in the execution of prospect research within our current school community, alumni and corporate, foundations and other institutional bodies
  • Organize campaign or event that will lead to soliciting donations
  • Maintain a regular face to face programme of solicitation of potential donors to generate agreed fundraising targets
  • Maintain records of donor information for future use
  • Evaluate the success of previous fundraising events
  • Ensure that all legal reporting requirements are satisfied
  • Ensure regular liaison with donors, in writing, by telephone and by organising face-to-face meetings to ensure their continued satisfaction and engagement with the school
  • Write projects/impact reports and share them with the appropriate teams and with interested donors
  • Ensure all Development Office communications: web and other electronic, press and broadcast media, print and other are consistent, in line with Institutional policies and support fundraising objectives.

You will be part of a small, highly dedicated and engaged team and we expect you to collaborate effectively with the team as well as other Education and Functional managers in the Foundation.


Candidate requirements:

  • College degree / Bachelor in a relevant field or relevant experience
  • Fundraising and specialised knowledge (e.g.: sales, client engagement, etc.)
  • Between 6-10 years of work experience
  • Very good interpersonal skills with team-spirit
  • Effective organisational skills in order to support a department
  • Strong creative thinking skills
  • Self-reflective and able to solve complex problems
  • Good decision-making skills and able to accept responsibilities
  • Able to establish organisational objectives and assign responsibilities
  • Capable to manage a number of projects with minimum supervision at a time
  • Detail oriented because deals with large volumes of data, including lists of people’s names and phone numbers, and must comply with regulations and internal policies
  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills are needed in order to communicate the message of their organization so that people will make donations
  • Passionate advocate for Ecolint
  • Able to travel and work in evening shifts as well as weekend when needed to engage donors and prospects
  • Oversees the activities of fundraising volunteers
  • Promote team and collaboration
  • Excellent level in French and English language (speaking and writing)
