For our rapidly growing Oligonucleotide business, we are looking for a Chemist as a Group Leader (f/m/d), 100% to strengthen our team in the further development of the R&D division.

In our new research laboratories, you will develop and optimize manufacturing processes from synthesis and purification to the final active ingredient. You will lead a small and motivated team of chemists and chemical laboratory technicians and have access to state-of-the-art equipment and technologies in your daily work.

Your tasks:

• Plan, coordinate and implement process developments in cooperation with other departments
• Identify and evaluate innovative technologies & new reagents and materials
• Coordinate and implement process transfers (scale-up) and support production when introducing new processes under cGMP guidelines
• Production of small product quantities for internal and external customers (non-GMP)
• Writing reports and creating presentations
• Support production in solving chemical challenges (trouble shooting)
• Collaborate in team projects for the internal coordination of a project as well as for communication with the customer
• Collaborate on risk analysis for our manufacturing processes
• Management and further development of your own organizational unit and temporarily assigned employees

Your profile:

• Doctorate in chemistry or a related field
• At least 2 years of management experience, preferably in research & development
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Conceptual & analytical work
• High flexibility, independence and ability to work in a team
• Very good knowledge of English; excellent knowledge of German is an advantage
• Knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistry, preparative purification and common analytical techniques such as UPLC and LC-MS
