Power Electronics Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Power Electronics Engineer to reinforce the team in Geneva.

Your mission:

• Analysis of customer specifications
• Design and industrialization of AC/DC and DC/AC converters in the range of 1-20MW and 500-3000Vdc
• Modelling of voltage source and line commutated converters
• Component specification (IGBT/Thyristors, Cooling, Magnetics)
• DC & AC harmonics calculation, filter design, reactive power compensation
• Verification of compliance with specifications and standards
• Protection coordination
• ·Interface with mechanical, electrical, software, testing and commissioning teams

For this position, the ideal candidate will have/be:

• Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Understanding of power electronics and knowledge of converter control
• Knowledge of IGBT-based voltage source converters (VSC), knowledge of Thyristor Line Commutation Converters (LCC) is a plus
• Knowledge of simulation tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK, PLECS, etc.
• A positive attitude, initiative, proactiveness, and an enthusiasm and passion for power electronics
• Demonstrated success in meeting customer milestones and exceeding quality expectations
• Good problem-solving and solution development skills, with hands-on experience in power converters
• Good communication skills with team, peers and management
