Join BU Execution NAM/LAM within LPT Division - Strategy & Business Development Manager

Do you want to be the key driver of strategy and business development for the Business Unit Execution, NAM/LAM in the Liquid & Powder Technologies Division? And are you self-driven with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills? Then you could be our Strategy & Business Development Manager.

We are looking for an experienced colleague that will help us identify and shape key strategic projects, look for areas for optimization as well as assess existing pipeline to ensure the continuous improvement and future growth of BU Execution NAM/LAM, LPT.

With a direct reporting line to the Senior Vice President, BU Execution NAM/LAM, LPT and as a member of the BU Leadership Team, you are instrumental in setting the agenda for the BU. We expect you to provide hands-on, sublime support on strategic initiatives and to help us grow the great potential of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Drives short, medium- and long-term strategic agenda incl. development of templates, identification and implementation of strategic goals in cooperation with business area owners

Aligns with business area owners on identification, prioritization, resourcing and funding of strategic initiatives

Support the operating business in NAM/LAM with business intelligence regarding market, competition and customer (inkl. Stakeholder analysis) – and convey strategy concepts into business actions/roadmaps – inkl. tracking and reporting

Develop and conduct best practice analysis for critical business processes, share it within the region and lead the implementation of optimization improvements

Drive Sales pipeline (in CRM) and define actions and conclusions for business

Other tasks assigned from the supervisor

Facilitates workshops on specific strategy or business development related topics

Cooperates with business units, other LPT BUs and Divisions, Finance and other relevant partners to identify opportunities and risks

Represents the business unit in corporate/transformational projects as well as M&A activities

Represents the business unit in strategic/business development meetings with clients and external partners

Aligns and secures support across business units, competence centers, divisions and functions

Engages and champions the values and objectives of GEA

Implement business strategic directions and initiatives (All)

Account Management for key customers

Cross-functional communication with Business Unit peers, Divisional heads, MDs, Finance and Corporate Development

Influences decision making of senior management by providing recommendations and scenarios

Makes decisions within portfolio of strategic initiatives (as project/program manager)

Under the discretion of the Senior Vice President of the BU – makes decisions on behalf of the business unit in corporate projects

Your profile

You are self-driven and never hesitate to reach out proactively to stakeholders for inspiration to our agenda. You communicate in a manner that is aligned with company values and you are perceived as a trustworthy partner to the different stakeholders in GEA.

You may have a background as a consultant and possess strong facilitation skills for conducting workshops and presentations. Solid project management experience is a must and 5-7 years of experience from a similar role.

You have an analytical mindset combined with a strong business acumen and a keen eye for details. You are a team player and able to communicate with all levels of our organization. You thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity and embrace changes to the scope of your role switching between strategic and operational topics.

You have a/are:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is required

Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or proven expertise gained by extensive work experience in relevant fields is preferred

Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Able to work in matrix organizations and influence decisions without direct authority

Open-minded to new models and ideas (change champion) and strong analytical skills

Excellent knowledge in MS Project & PowerPoint, Excel and tools like PowerBI, Tableau or similar
