Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations to come.

We develop, build and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines which capture CO₂ directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is removed from the air by safely storing it underground, permanently.

Your mission

Job description

Your mission at Climeworks is to support us to implement contracting processes to deliver multi-million projects able to contribute to the reduction/elimination of CO2 to fight global warming.

  • You define, develop and implement the most suitable Contracting Strategy related to a Project Procurement Plan to ensure medium/long term business strategy and Company goals are met.
  • You manage Invitations to Tender, evaluation of quotations and the recommendation of award, all within procurement procedures and local regulation.
  • You develop key sourcing activities, ensuring equipment and service availability to meet company goals while minimizing risk.
  • You set challenging targets of savings in any procurement process with the aim of reducing the total cost of ownership.
  • You participate in high level negotiations with key Contractors.
  • You develop and continually improve contract templates in alignment with internal stakeholders (e.g., align requirements for new services / align terms with finance, tax, legal).
  • You contribute to update/generate procurement procedures/operative instruction according to the procurement best practices and past experiences.

Your story

Requirements

  • You hold a master’s degree in a technical discipline or in a related field.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience.
  • You have knowledge of procurement/commercial strategy definition and implementation, particularly in Project procurement
  • You have the ability to build positive working relationships with the stakeholders and you focus on the results that benefit the Climeworks mission.
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter that stands out by having good interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize well.
  • You are business fluent in English and your excellent communication skills set you apart.
  • You are willing to travel up to 20%.
