For our Drug Product Services (DPS) department in Basel, we are looking for an EHS and Biosafety Specialist (m/w/d).
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)-related aspects for Drug Product Services (DPS) as followed
Coordination of personal safety equipment for DPS employees and visitors
Contact for authorities (e.g. emergency service, emergency management, Approvals and Notifications, EHS related inspections, work inspectorate, bureau of environment, fire protection, chemical and biowaste disposal)
Contact to customers (EHS customer audits, EHS questionnaires, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) certifications, Supply safety, Business Continuity Management)
Contact for EHS, DPS Basel within Lonza (Global EHS, Lonza Emergency Communication (LECOM), Management of Change, internal safety audits, safety coaches, occupational safety, contact to EHS Visp and other Lonza locations, insurances and SUVA regulations, support health checks of employees) Implement support & guide women workplace requests
Coordinating and execution of regular safety inspections, EHS internal audits, CAPA management
Responsible for dangerous goods at Basel, DPS
Responsible for emergency planning (emergency concepts, fire department, health, contact for emergency forces and services, clarification team, reporting accidents and incidents)
Assures compliance of the site with general biosafety standards and policies as well as with national and international biosafety regulations
Key Requirements
University Degree (Bachelors required, Masters preferred) in a technical discipline: Safety expert, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Analytical science
Fundamental experience in an industrial environment, preferably hygiene in chemistry
EHS Auditing experience
Proven process understanding in Biopharma manufacturing (cGMP & safety aspects)
Detailed knowhow and experience in Process Risk assessments
Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong presentation skills for developing and delivering training to elevate knowledge, skills and behaviors at multiple levels of the organization
Dealing with high level of ambiguity using coaching skills
