The new role of HR Shared Services Lead for Germany and Austria is about delivering exceptional HR services in the area of HR administration, Time & Attendance, Payroll and driving streamlined processes as well ensuring data quality, time accuracy and compliance. With SuccessFactors and Employee Central as our global master data core system, we have built the foundation and we will continue to invest and implement digital solutions that enhance organizational efficiency and drive excellent employee experience.

The role is based in Freiburg, Germany and the future incumbent will be part of a regional and global HRSS network.

The job incumbent has to manage various key Relationships, such as: Director Global HR Shared Services, Commercial Iberia Lead Team, Country Head HR, Head People & Culture EMEA, HR Tech & Analytics EMEA, HR Total Rewards, Global HR Business Partners, International Business Leaders, Works Council, Legal & Finance department, external consultants, authorities and service providers.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the delivery of streamlined, digitalized, and simplified HR operational processes and solutions and driving the development of HR Operations and Payroll solutions based on global HRSS Strategy
  • Manage employee records and policies, implementing adequate processes and audits, in compliance with recent local employment law updates
  • Leading in an international team-oriented environment, providing excellent support to the organization and its people
  • Leading the entire range of HR administrative and Payroll tasks and monitor and enhance service delivery standards to ensure global consistency, ultimately enhancing both manager and team member experiences
  • With a service delivery mindset and customer centricity approach, being a strong partner to support our HR Business Partnering model
  • Ensuring compliance with HR templates, legal documents, processes, and policies
  • Taking charge of GDPR setup and lead internal HR compliance efforts
  • Establishing global mobility protocols for managing international hires, partnering with other regional / local HR stakeholders to ensure operational execution of International Assignments as well as National or International Transfers within the Straumann Group
  • Ensure and manage proper communication and collaboration with relevant authorities
  • Review and adapt the HR service delivery structure to meet changing business needs (ie – some programs delivered centrally through the HR Operations team and some through HR business partners or talent acquisition teams)
  • Strong understanding of the importance of data integrity and reliability, testing of system changes, and analysing data flows for process improvement opportunities
  • Providing consultative support for local and international based people manager and HR Business Partner in the area of employee relations, employment and pay policies and processes
  • Establish structures & processes to become the first contact for employees for all HR-related inquiries & requests
  • Build partnerships and solicit feedback from internal and external business partners to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices
  • Establishes an effective operational management system to track and communicate performance against internal service level agreements and external benchmarks

Education & Experience

  • University degree or equivalent in HR, Finance (MBA, Diploma, BA, etc.)
  • 8-10 years of work experience within the field of payroll and HR Shared Services, preferably in an international matrix environment
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • High proficiency in modern HRSS payroll tech solutions (e.g. SuccessFactors)
  • Experienced in stakeholder management of senior business and HR leaders and works councils
  • Experienced and skilled in project management
  • Transformation/implementation experience desired
  • Demonstrated sound judgement when working through complex issues
  • Understand the current high-level technology environment of cloud-based Human Resources and Payroll systems, and third-party provider opportunities
