R&D RRP Commercial Sourcing Manager

Position purpose:

Reduced risk products (RRPs) are critical to the future success and profitability of the company.

RRP Sourcing within R&D function is highly dynamic and volatile operational environment, growing rapidly with increasing number of markets as per RRP geo-expansion strategy.

You will be responsible for management and coordination of all sourcing related activities for 3rd party manufacturers: new products commercialization, contractual framework maintenance and development, cost optimization and competitiveness improvement of RRP products, implementation of sourcing strategy, search and development of alternative supply flows for business continuity and expansion.

This role also requires excellent cross-functional and cross-locational collaboration, agility, resilience and experience in procurement.

Main Responsibilities:

RRP Sourcing Strategy

  • Proactively implement and execute RRP sourcing strategies and coordinate new product commercialization and sourcing design that would best support overall JTG RRP strategies
  • Propose enhancements to BCP/ Security of supply strategies and continuously look for alternative sourcing options
  • Analyze supply chain costs and drive improvements
  • Ensure close collaboration and alignment with internal parties

Supplier management

  • Support management of supplier relationships, including but not limited to RRP contract manufacturers
  • Ensure regular follow-ups with key manufacturers, business reviews and assessment of sourcing risks and opportunities
  • Leverage commercial acumen and analytical expertise to RRP investment decisions to ensure value-creating commercial decisions, efficient capital allocation and risk-balanced investment decisions.
  • Build know-how on manufacturing environment and develop a baseline for understanding of product costs at 3rd parties

New product development

  • Manage and coordinate project related activities for new product introduction
  • Establish and ensure efficient coordination with PMO & other functions to ensure timely commercialization of new products

Commercial management

  • Manage price negotiations and continuously look for cost optimization opportunities
  • Manage cost benchmarks, challenge cost offers and ensure cost competitiveness

Ensure regular budgeting

  • Manage product cost calculation and periodic cost reconciliation (true-up)
  • Provide ad-hoc quality analytical power such as competitors pricing analysis, profitability assessments, macro-level economic forecasts, etc

Contract Management

  • Manage and enhance JTG contractual framework with external supply partners
  • Identify need for, develop and bring to a signing necessary contract
  • Ensure contractual alignment with JT, strive for standardization, ensure compliant process and governance

What we are looking for- Requirements:

  • Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing or procurement field. Excellent understanding of supply chain operations. Experience with negotiations and international environment
  • Technical Skills: University degree
  • Interpersonal/communication skills: autonomous and proactive individual with continuous improvement mindset, able to build & maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Curious, making data-driven decisions, analytical. Strong skills of effective communication
  • Fluent English is essential
