As we continue to grow and advance our technological capabilities, we are seeking a talented FPGA Design Engineer to join our R&D department based in Geneva. In this role, you will work on the design and validation of VHDL code to be implemented in FPGAs used in various application such as space project, Time-Tagging or Quantum Safe products, and deployed on various technologies (SoC, Xilinx, Intel, Microsemi radiation tolerant FPGAs). This position provides an exciting opportunity for a candidate willing to make a significant impact on our projects and to learn more about various applications and technologies.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop FPGA solutions ensuring optimal performances and reliability.
  • Test and validate thoroughly FPGA designs to meet project requirements.
  • Understand project requirements and contribute to transform them into technical specifications, as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to FPGA implementations, in close collaboration with other R&D engineers.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate FPGA solutions into larger systems.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with other technical discipline and other stakeholders to optimize block specification and performance.
  • Rigorous approach focused on delivering high quality results using IDQ’s design process flow.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the latest FPGA development applications and technologies.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineer, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 years of proven experience in FPGA design and development.
  • Proficiency in VHDL programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with FPGA development tools and software from different manufacturer such as Xilinx (Vivado), Intel (Quartus) and Microsemi (Libero).
  • Familiar with Intel, Xilinx and Microsemi development SW suites.
  • Experience in space project development is a plus.
  • Good English spoken and written (C1 level).
  • Ability to communicate and present to internal customers and peers.
  • Self-starter, organized, able to work independently, positive, and eager to learn and deliver.
  • Team-player with a strong interest in working in an Agile environment with a high level of interaction.
