To complete our team, we are looking for a:
English teacher 50%Part-time - 9 Periods
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be qualified to teach at secondary school level. The position will likely include MYP and IGCSE classes (English A) with the possibility of English B (English as an Additional Language) and IB Diploma classes depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
- Teaching at secondary school level (11-18 year olds)
- To assess regularly the progress of students and report those results to parents
- To ensure curriculum entitlement and progression is achieved for all students
- To collaborate closely with colleagues in the department to develop the teaching and examination resources in the department and contribute to curriculum enrichment
Candidate requirements
- Experience of teaching the IB Diploma Programme for English A or equivalent
- Knowledge of the IB programmes in English Language and Literature, and Language B
- A recognised teaching qualification at graduate or postgraduate level
- English fluent, with a working knowledge of French
- A passion for teaching and learning with a drive to achieve the highest possible standards with all students
- A genuine interest in student welfare, with the emotional intelligence to support and care for all students and to be an empathetic and inclusive member of the school community
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent ICT skills and a knowledge of their effective use to support pedagogy
- Commitment to self-reflection and professional development
