Global Product Developer (Dickies) - Temp Contract 1 year

Dickies EMEA is looking for an exceptional Global Product Developer (Dickies) to join our Global Product Development team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Let’s Talk about the Role

You as Global Product Developer, will develop the designated product categories/sub-categories from Designer’s design/idea to the final realization, utilize your technical skills, attention to details, recommends materials and construction techniques that meet design expectations, analyzing development costs and ensuring an on-time tasks delivery in line with the calendar. The developed products will be relevant to global markets.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Leading handover meeting with design and drive constructive conversation, proactively offering suggestions for improved construction, aesthetics, and manufacturing enhancements.
  • Creating, for each product, a Technical Pack (add sketches, artworks, etc.) and a Bill of Material (BOM), and update the same from Proto, SMS and bulk production.
  • Delivering TP to VF Regional Souring teams and coordinate with them the delivering of proto, SMS, PPS to the HQ, in time as per brand calendar
  • Proving guidance to deliver cost targets aligned with style details and related construction to Regional Offices and you being accountable to meet style FOB targets.
  • Plan and track development schedule of all products to ensure timely completion.
  • Receive and evaluate samples and execute all development changes discussed during proto review and fit session. 
  • Approval strike offs, mock-ups and graphic submission when requested.
  • Participates in special projects, process, or calendar optimization.
  • Close communication with regional offices and buying offices to ensure a correct and on time product outcome.
  • Co-Leading fitting session along with designer and pattern maker technicians, ensuring execution of fit intent and fit standards.
  • Interacts proactively with all brand’s depts, Raw material sourcing, Pattern maker, Design, Factories/Vendors, and other cross-functional team.
  • Proactive approach to sustainable solutions.

Skills for Success

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Product Development in a medium or large sized apparel company
  • Solid knowledge in garment construction and live model fitting.
  • Demonstrated experience working on site with vendors and operational knowledge of factories, delivering clear briefs.
  • Knowledge of product category, product materials, manufacturing processes and product development lifecycle.
  • Ability to travel to overseas facilities as needed.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to learn and show curiosity for product and innovation.
  • Able to proactively troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
  • Deadline driven and organized mindset with a track record for delivering results on time.
  • Proficient PC skills (MS package, Adobe Illustrator) and PLM systems, 3D cads.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) is a must.
  • Strong interactive skills

An education and subsequent University bachelor’s or master’s degree in design (Apparel), Engineering, Manufacturing are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
