You, as a (Junior) Process Engineer SME in logistics is responsible for designing, optimizing, and improving processes and systems involved in the logistics operations of Lonza. The primary focus is on streamlining and enhancing efficiency in the movement and management of goods and materials throughout the supply chain.

You will analyze and evaluate existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop innovative solutions to enhance productivity . You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including warehouse personnel, transportation managers, suppliers, and customers, to gather data, understand requirements, and implement process changes. This position offers a dynamic carrier path, with potential and exciting possibilities for growth and professional development 

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and configuration of new logistics systems and infrastructure.
  • Test and validate system setups to ensure functionality and compatibility with existing processes.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain all aspects of our logistics systems to ensure smooth operation.
  • Act as a first line for troubleshoot and resolve system related issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct routine audits to identify areas for improvement and address any deficiencies.
  • Author, review and Implementation of process related procedures (Standard operation procedures, Reports,…).
  • Utilize data analytics and process modeling techniques to identify trends and forecast future logistics needs
  • Take on dynamic projects based on organizational needs.

Key requirements:

Hard Skills:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Logistics, Supply Chain management, Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Confident handling of MS-Office .
  • Eagerness to learn.
  • Accurate working and documentation style.
  • Business Fluent English and German (or willingness to learn).

Soft Skills:

  • Good team player, competence for cross-divisional cooperation
  • Independent, self-reliant and structured working style
  • Can do Attitude
  • Good Communication skills
  • High ability to work under pressure, stress resistance and flexibility
