System Monitoring and Control (80-100%)

Your responsibilities:

System Monitoring and Control (SMC) is a key activity to ensure a safe and efficient delivery of our Air Traffic Management services. SMC help our operational customers to understand the overall status of the technical services and allowing them to provide Skyguide services accordingly. SMC's do not only continuously diagnose the situation, but also advise, prevent, correct, and report. SMC also help at making sure that changes to the technical landscape are brought into operation in a smooth, efficient and safe way.

  • Performing 24/7/365 monitoring of the Air Traffic Management (ATM), Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) and Communication/Navigation/Surveillance (CNS) systems to detect deviation from nominal values
  • Support the operational customers with up-to-date complete technical service status and comprehensible advice - manage any degradation of the technical equipment and communicate in a suitable way to stakeholders
  • Responsible for the control and coordination of all maintenance and intervention activities - perform preventive action and mitigation to reduce risk of service degradation
  • Initiate incident handling and diagnose, perform 1st level of corrective maintenance according to predefined procedures and escalate if appropriate
Your profile:

  • Technical degree or professional license
  • Experience in a 24/7 environment in a service desk setup is an advantage
  • Willingness to complete trainings to obtain an ATSEP (Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel) certification to comply with safety regulations
  • Able to work in a highly regulated and safety critical environment and to perform in stressful and complex situations
  • Strong communicator to interact with operational stakeholders in a comprehensible way
  • Language skills: German C1, English minimum B2 (required for ATSEP certification). Good knowledge of a second national language is an advantage
