The Wyss Zurich Translational Center (Wyss Zurich) is a joint accelerator of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, which was made possible by a generous donation from the Swiss entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. hc. mult. The mission of Wyss Zurich is to drive the clinical translation and technology transfer of outstanding scientific discoveries into new therapies for patients and breakthrough innovations in the emerging fields of Regenerative Medicine and Robotics, and to promote hybrid technologies in these fields. Wyss Zurich brings together some of the world's leading experts to form multidisciplinary teams, pooling their knowledge and expertise.

The Somagenetix project at Wyss Zurich offers the position of a Production Operator / Laboratory Assistant to support developing a gene therapy for children with primary immunodeficiency. As a member of the production team, you will make an important contribution to the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant production of genetically modified human hematopoietic stem cells for phase I/II clinical trials.

Your responsibilities


Work with human hematopoietic stem cells using automated cell processing systems in a clean room pharmaceutical environment.
Management of material/reagents supply and storage (inspections and documenting of deliveries, stocking and release, labelling and transfer to a clean room, expiry control etc.).
Assistance in writing production-related documentation.

Your profile


Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, or Laboratory Technician EFZ, Scientific Laboratory Technician HFP
Experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques
Familiarity with GMP manufacturing processes is an advantage
Work experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is an advantage
Good communication skills in German and English (verbal and written)
