Head Compliance Operations

We are searching for a Head of Compliance to join our Compliance Team in Glattbrugg/Zurich. Based at our operational Headquarter, you will be responsible for the efficient functioning of compliance processes in line with Group Compliance Program in all Regions. In this role, you will be working cross-functionally with a wide variety of internal and external stake-holder, to ensure the close collaboration with the local compliance teams; furthermore, you will oversee the successful implementation of IT tools for key compliance processes execution of compliance special projects. Your tasks and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • ensure effective and successful collaboration between HQ and Regional Compliance Directors on specific matters, e.g. anti-corruption, interactions with health care professionals (HCPs) and government officials (GOs), Patient Organizations, Patients, sanctions, regulatory matters, legal matters and global, regional and country ethics standards

  • Share best practice, act as role model and take part in selected commercial and scientific activities

  • Support the Head Group Compliance and act as his Deputy

  • assure regular, proactive advice and support in the Regions, encompassing Vifor Affiliates and Partners. Playing a key role in the approval process for commercial and scientific activities  incl. ad boards, congresses. symposiums, grants, sponsorships, etc.

  • Drive the communication to  raise awareness and the importance of compliance

  • Perform special projects as assigned related to e.g. due diligence, monitoring and investigations

  • Proactively identify opportunities to minimize compliance risk

  • Prevent and detect conduct inconsistent with policies and the law and undertake corrective plans to resolve the issues

The ideal candidate brings a strong legal background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as proven project management skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in law and compliance, ideally in global pharma firm listed in US or Europe

  • 5 years of experience of managing compliance teams

  • Excellent academic law background, experience with investigations, sanctions, trade & export controls US / EU / CH, accounting and booking standards

  • Strong teamwork and ability to successfully work within international and cross-functional environments

  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken), proficiency in German is an asset

  • Up to 20% travel might be required

Furthermore, you bring excellent organizational skills, combined with the ability to set priorities and work effectively to meet deadlines. You demonstrate innovative, entrepreneurial attitude as well as "hands-on" mentality and a solution-oriented work style.
