Masterthesis – Modelling and State Estimation for the Win GD State-of-the-art Integrated SCR Technology in GT-Power

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will bring a strong track record in technical modelling and simulation in the related chemical engineering disciplines of reaction engineering and mass transfer. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated experience in tool and analytics development related to post combustion emission abatement, complemented with strong programming skills and technical writing. The candidate will primarily support the development of tools and analytics related to selective catalytic reduction technology (SCR), in the different stages of model definition / architecture, implementation and validation. Specifically:


  • Development of tools and analytics related to post combustion emission abatement technology

  • Performance evaluation of pre-existing modelling platforms and analytics

  • Responsible for progress in the different stages of model definition / architecture, implementation and validation

  • Technical authoring

Requirements

  • M.Sc. Student in Chemical-, Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)

  • In-depth knowledge in heterogeneous reaction engineering and mass transfer concepts with good general knowledge in chemical catalysis

  • Experience and interest in post combustion emission abatement technology, preferable in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology

  • Experienced in modelling / simulation and statistical programming. Familiar with various programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, etc, with a strong preference for experience with Python

  • Experience in working with large datasets

  • SQL database or file database knowledge

  • Experience implementing reproducible research practices like version control (e.g. using Git) and literate programming

  • Fluent in English (Oral and Written)
