About the team you are joining
Cargo iQ is an Industry Membership Group composed of forwarders, airlines, handlers, truckers and system solution providers, organized as an IATA Interest Group, operating the leading air cargo quality and process management platform and maintaining the Master Operating Plan (MOP) standard on behalf of the air cargo industry. Functionally reporting to the Cargo iQ Board, while line reporting to the IATA Head of Cargo. The incumbent will work in close coordination with the Cargo iQ membership, Cargo iQ board and IATA functions. In addition, will be responsible for the continued development, and expansion of Cargo iQ as the leading global quality management platform and provider of global standards for quality and interoperability for the air cargo industry.
What your day would be like
Lead and Manage the Cargo iQ management team of currently three persons based at the IATA facility in Geneva
Facilitate and support the membership effort in the continued process of strategy definition, implementation and follow-up of the resulting initiatives, in collaboration with all relevant internal and external stakeholders (e.g., IATA functions, FIATA, technology providers and other suppliers etc.)
Ensure completion and successful implementation of agreed strategy projects approved by the Cargo iQ Board
Develop a business development plan leading to the successful retention and increase in membership
Ensure ongoing financial viability and sustainability in line with the approved budget to ensure the organisation is self-sustainable and can invest in future developments
Represent Cargo iQ in relevant industry forums and with industry stakeholders (in industry meetings, membership meetings, etc.)
Ensure relationships are developed to ensure access to leading edge key technologies useful in the continued digitization process in the air logistics industry
Work closely in collaboration with all mentioned parties to ensure success is achieved on the above in the context of the larger global vision for air cargo industry transformation and modernization
We would love to hear from you if you have the following qualifications
Minimum 15 years of logistics industry experience, hereof a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role
Proven success as team leader; successful leadership experience in change management at organizational and/or industry level
Strong drive and desire to positively impact the air cargo industry
Experience with one or several components of the air logistics supply chain (airline/forwarder/shipper etc.)
Ability to perform under pressure and without constant supervision, driving multiple projects simultaneously and delivering tight deadlines
Strategic, conceptual and practical thinker, challenging status quo and strong change management skills as well as facilitation skills (desire to create solution amongst members of differing business objectives)
Ability to develop compelling vision and get buy in from diverse groups of stakeholders; excellent facilitation skills required.
Note: the preferred location for this position in GVA, however this could be reviewed based on the circumstances of the successful candidate.
