Senior Cloud Software Engineer Java 80% bis 100%

What you achieve

Our customers want services that go beyond Infrastructure-as-a-Service. Thanks to your in-depth knowledge, you drive the development of microservices according to the Open Service Broker principle. You collaborate closely with other teams to ensure that the software you build adds the required value for all parties involved. To achieve this, the component must work flawlessly with all the surrounding systems, including those from the classic IT world. CI/CD pipelines and automated testing are part of your job to ensure quality. With the documentation you also ensure that you can operate the service initially after launch and later hand it over to another DevOps team for the lifecycle management (including further development). Java Engineers and VMware Automation professionals work with you. They have all the skills and competencies to turn the service into a full-fledged product. To be familiar with the technologies used comes natural to you.

Why you succeed

  • Degree (ETH/Uni/UAS) in computer science
  • Very good knowledge of Java (Spring and SpringBoot, Reactive, EIP), knowledge of JavaScript, Python, and Groovy is a plus
  • Profound knowledge in the configuration and development of CI/CD environments (Git, Gradle, Jenkins or similar) as well as know-how in cloud-native technologies (Cloud Foundry, Docker, Kubernetes, PKS)
  • Knowledge of VMware automation tools (vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, vCloudDirector) and in-depth knowledge of networks (MPLS, NSX, overlay networks) is a plus
  • Understanding and enjoyment of complex and distributed system architectures
  • Ability to analyse complex issues, think in a networked way, and implement pragmatic solutions
  • Good sense for balancing the need for perfection with creating first attempts (iterative procedure, "good enough" first delivery)
  • Good English, German a plus
