General Description
In
collaboration
with
their
colleagues,
teachers
are
responsible
for
planning
and
implementing
an
appropriate,
school-aligned
instructional
program
in
a
learning
environment
that
guides
and
encourages
students
to
develop
and
fulfill
their
academic
and
personal
potential.
In
addition
to
their
course
and
classroom
responsibilities,
all
teachers
participate
in
supporting
after-school
programming
and
division-specific
commitments
(eg.
service,
PSHE)
as
assigned.
Teachers
are
expected
to
meet
(or
commit
to
a
growth
plan
to
fulfill)
the
community
expectations
of
ISZL’s
educator
competency
domains.
This is a full-time position and will begin in August
2021.
The English Teacher is expected to:
Professional Responsibilities

Monitor and record student progress toward learning
outcomes

Engage parents are partners, sharing student feedback
and information about the instructional
program, using Schoology and other school technology
platforms

Communicate behavioral/pastoral care issues in a timely
manner

Adhere to child protection protocols

Follow ISZL policies

Integrate ISZL’s guiding statements, including the
school-wide learning principles, into the work
Working with ISZL Students

Teach class or courses that align with ISZL programmatic
expectations, appropriate to the stage
of student development (eg. PYP, MYP, DP/AP, PSHE,
etc)

Use a variety of different teaching strategies and
resources to cater to a variety of different
learning situations, abilities, and styles

Offer regular, written, formative feedback on student
progress in order to support growth

Cultivate a community of care and well-being, exemplifying
ISZL’s values of “We respect; We
motivate; We achieve.”
Working with ISZL Colleagues

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure departmental
and school-wide philosophical alignment

Participate in departmental, divisional and schoolwide
meetings in an effort to meet strategic
objectives

Engage with colleagues to deepen practice and learn
from each other, including seeking
feedback

Commit to building psychological safety with each
other, within teams, and across campus

Honour the shared responsibility for children’s learning

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Compensation
Compensation for this position will be commensurate
