Reserving Actuarial Manager Centre of Excellence (CoE) 80-100% - 200000X7
In this role based in Zurich you are part of the Centre of Excellence CoE Zurich. The CoE Zurich is responsible for reserving General Insurance business in Europe.
As a Reserving Actuarial Manager in the CoE your main responsibilities will involve:
Lead a reserving team within the EMEA actuarial center of excellence.
Ensure people’s development, provide support and guidance.
For the assigned country:
Prepare and perform actuarial analysis including loss projections, technical reserves calculation for gross and reinsurance layers and cash flow projections. Report the quarterly results to the country executive team and the CIEMEA Chief Actuary.
Provide the executive management team with business insights on underlying portfolio performance. Support the development of the business strategy and underwriting actions.
Collaborate with finance to ensure the adequacy of the balance sheet and profit and loss on IFRS basis. Ensure appropriate calculation of SII technical provision. Support the implementation of IFRS 17 accounting standards.
Ensure that processes and standards are consistent with internal Zurich actuarial policies and guidance as well as existing regulations.
Lead projects related to either business insights, automation or data improvement.
As a Reserving Actuarial Manager in the CoE your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Master’s degree in mathematics or related field.
Qualified actuary (per local society).
At least 5 years’ experience in non-life insurance.
Ability to manage and develop a team.
Good programming skills. Experience with SAS and VBA will be an advantage.
Successful track record of delivering projects.
Ability to work independently, under pressure and conscious of deadlines.
Showing enthusiasm and having positive attitude.
Very good English skills. Any other European language would be an advantage.
