Laboratory Scientist at DMLP
As part of the acquisition of a high-resolution spectrometer intended for research and development with a diagnostic focus, the DMLP Management is looking for a collaborator with experience in high-resolution mass spectrometry for a renewable one-year fixed-term contract.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DMLP) at CHUV performs advanced laboratory analyses and ensures high-quality results. As a university entity, the DMLP supports clinicians in the development, prescription, and interpretation of tests, while developing new innovative diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic tests.
The DMLP Management coordinates several departmental laboratories/platforms that support the department's services and the entire CHUV to meet various diagnostic and research needs.
Mission
- You participate in the development and optimization of analytical/bioinformatics methods and workflows for the analysis of molecules of interest
- You contribute to the technical management of high-resolution mass spectrometry instruments and associated equipment
- You provide support for research and development activities with a diagnostic focus
- You contribute to the training of collaborators.
Profile
- You hold a university degree oriented towards chemistry or biology
- You have experience in high-resolution mass spectrometry
- You possess knowledge in the development and validation of analytical methods in mass spectrometry and are familiar with specialized software
- Ideally, you have experience in HRMS data processing, a valued asset
- You are an organized, autonomous, and rigorous person
- You have good skills to work in a multidisciplinary team, as well as to solve technical or scientific problems
- You have good writing skills in French as well as in technical English.
