In more details, you will…
Managerial and Leadership duties and responsibilities:o Provide managerial leadership to the local department staff.
o Communicate the goals and strategy of CCLS, the lab and the department.
o Manage all day to day delivery of testing services.
o Ensure testing quality and on time delivery of testing services.
o Ensure that an adequate number of trained and competent staff is available to match the workload requirements of the department.
o Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.
o Responsible for meeting established quality measures and on time responses to quality issues (QTM, PT, QCSR, etc.) as required.
Management:
o Manage all day to day production operations of the local department.
o Manage all non-production activities and obligations of the local department.
o Provide support, as required, to the local department leader (director or associate director) and assist in the fulfillment of his/her responsibilities.
o Participate in and support client visits, audits and inquiries to ensure complete fulfillment of requests and interests.
Performance Monitoring and Evaluation:
o Ensure quality and timely delivery of both production and non-production activities.
o Monitor and report performance and results against targets and global standards.
o Ensure regulatory compliance within the local department.
o Coordinate departmental activities with Global Laboratory Support Services.
o Assist director in the establishment of globally consistent production standards.
o Ensure on time delivery of performance reports (PT, QC/PM, Internal and External QC) and responses to inquiries from other functional areas.
o Participate in client visits, audits and inquiries; ensure complete fulfillment of requests and audit findings.
o Support Six Sigma and other process improvement initiatives.
Required profile:
Managerial and Leadership duties and responsibilities:
Personnel:
o Recruit, train, develop and retain sufficient supervisory resources for the effective oversight of the local department operations.
o Convert volume forecasts into specific personnel resource needs and work with the department director (or local associate director) and senior director operations to secure necessary and appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
o Plan, schedule and monitor the technical training and development of local departmental staff.
o Ensure an adequate level of appropriately trained staff is available and effectively assigned to meet the production and non-production requirements of the local department.
Essential External Client-related Job Duties:
o Support marketing and sales as needed in their efforts to meet specific client requests for testing services.
What we’re looking for
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Histology
- 6 years’ experience in a laboratory following clinical training, plus 2 years supervisory or management experience in a clinical laboratory environment
- Bachelor, Master or PhD in a scientific discipline or business administration; or Medical Technology degree
- A professional certification (ASCP, AABB or other) in the area of expertise is an advantage
- Qualification by the Foederation Analyticorum Medicilanium Helveticorum (FAMH) or by the Foederation Medicorum Helveticoruma (FMH) is a plus
- Fluency in English; Command of French is a plus
- Computer literate
- Client-focused with an interest for innovation and change
