For our Purchasing Department at Fischer Connectors, we are looking for a
to sustain our current panel of suppliers, develop new partnerships to support the growth of the company and expand our geographical footprint in Europe, Asia & the USA. Acting as a commodity manager, you will define and implement the strategy for the commodities and manage the corresponding suppliers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE
- Negotiate cost reduction based on cost models, reverse engineering, industry benchmark
- Identify best-in class suppliers thanks to continuous benchmarks (technology, lead time, quality, cost)
- Allocate business between our pool of suppliers to reach our KPI of service level, quality and cost
- Qualify new suppliers with Quality, Procurement and Engineering and enable a successful ramp-up
- Negotiate contracts of supply with international suppliers
- Follow-up on suppliers’ performance (service level, quality, cost) and any corrective actions
- Mitigate possible risks of supply chain disruption (dual sourcing, contract of supply, safety stock …)
- Build strong relationships to identify new technological trends and share them internally with engineering design team
- For the development of new products: support engineering and suppliers (design reviews, prototype to series production)
THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
- Background in purchasing & engineering with a Bachelor's Degree in electrical, electronics, mechanical or mechatronics engineering
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills: create and maintain suppliers' KPI; generate business analysis; motivate & document decisions
- 5 year in a similar position within an international company
- 5 year working with international suppliers for at least one of the following commodities: electronics, cables, plastic injection, metal bar turning, contract manufacturing, coating & surface treatment
- Fluent in French and English (minimum C1 level)
- Travel (up to 20% in Europe, Asia and USA)
