Senior Embedded Web Frontend Developer

Our transversal Group Technology R&D is looking for a highly motivated front-end developer who has a passion for creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for machines. You will be helping to define and implement our new unified embedded frontend platform, and will support Product Lines R&Ds to bring their HMIs to a next level of web-based modern standard.
The ideal candidate will have a background in HMI design and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless user experience.
You will be working in an industrial environment with embedded equipment, and closely partner with cross functional teams and experts in our organization.

In this function you will be entrusted with the following main tasks:

• Define web based front-end technology stack and frameworks
• Define coding standards
• Run reviews to guarantee the structure and design of the applications follow the standards and guidelines
• Define practices to ensure the applications they are building are secure and performant
• Generate documentation about UI architecture, interactions and behaviors with REST APIs or any other mechanism to process data (e.g. GraphQL, etc.)
• Document and assist in defining functional and technical requirements of different applications
• Evaluate new frameworks and tools that can be integrated into the existing applications
• Implement front-end development workflows: building systems, dependency management, quality checkers (linting), etc.
• Create pattern libraries and style guides according to the project's requirements
• Guide performance automatic testing and solve issues as they appear

For this function you bring the following requirements:

• Experience (at least 5 years) with modern Javascript/Typescript development using one of the following frameworks: Angular, React or Vue
• Experience with the architecture of complex single page applications
• Accessibility, usability, and current web standards are close to your heart
• Strong awareness of code quality and clean code
• Experience working in an Agile Team with Continuous Integration and DevOps practices (e.g. DevOps Azure, Bamboo, Jenckins,…)
• Strong awareness of clean and well-documented architecture
• Experience with typical toolchains is an advantage (e.g. Azure DevOps, Node/NPM, etc.)

The production site of Mex, near Lausanne in Switzerland, is also the headquarters of the Bobst Group. It is the most important site, employing approx. 1500 passionate people.
