Our client is a Non Profit Organization (NGO) in the conservation of nature. We are currently looking for a Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia
This is a senior leadership position which provides you an excellent opportunity in the regional office to lead and implement the vision on nature conservation.
As the most senior leader in the region, the Director is part of the global senior management team that contributes to the organization's performance and global targets of conservation.
Requirements
- This position requires an accomplished, credible, and reliable senior leader with strong expertise and good understanding of environmental policy issues in the regional and global context. The Director represents the NGO's secretariat and provides guidance and leadership for all activities undertaken by the Secretariat in the region
- With a firm understanding of Eastern Europe and Central Asia region, its international challenges and opportunities
- Responsible for the fundraising efforts
- The Director is accountable for financial, human, and administrative resources
- The Regional Director ensures that all organizational activities are consistently performed under the principles of equity, faireness, inclusiveness, and respect for the diversity of people.
This job will be based in Belgrade, Serbia
Candidate profile - you are likely to be a good match for this position if you have most or all of the following:
- Advanced university degree in a development or science-related area (i.e. natural resource management, business management, public administration, economics, conservation and sustainable development, or relevant social sciences)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in leadership positions, including governance of a complex multinational organization of programme in an area related to conservation and/ or sustainable development, of which at least 5 years is in the region administered by ECARO
- Proven experience in developing, managing, implementing and monitoring large programmes related to conservation, biodiversity, natural resources, and sustainable development
- Leadership experience in managing the performance of a diverse and multi-cultural teams
- Unimpeachable integrity as evidenced by behavior, communication style, and ways of handling ambiguous or difficult situations
- Enthusiastic commitment and vision characterised by a commitment to nature conservation and sustainable use, and the ability to provide inspiration and strategic direction
