The Role
Bristol Myers Squibb is looking to recruit a permanent Senior Specialist Accounting based in Boudry, Switzerland. Hybrid - 50% work from home policy apply to this role.
Position Summary:
This position will execute the day to day finance operations of Swiss based companies and branches.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for a group of legal entities' books, ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards and internal corporate policies and procedure,
- Ensures accuracy and timelines of the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting.
- Monthly accounting close-the-books activities including but not limited to: Revenue, expense accrual, prepayment, accounts reconciliation,
- Perform annual translation of financial statements from US GAAP to Swiss local statutory / local tax requirements for assigned legal entities and ensure timely compliance of statutory deadlines,
- Collaboration with other departments such as Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/ Tax and supported affiliates to ensure correct accounting treatment of transactions,
- Primary contact for internal and external audits.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Expectations:
- Professional qualification in Accounting and Finance,
- 3 years' experience in accounting and reporting in a multinational company (possibly including auditing firms),
- Experience in working in a complex, matrix environment,
- Good understanding of general accounting and financial principles under US GAAP, Swiss GAAP, financial reporting processes and tax laws,
- Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet applications (Excel) and accounting and management reporting systems (Oracle & SAP),
- Fluent in spoken and written English,
- Strong analytical skills and ability to provide quality work using strong organizational and interpersonal skills,
- Flexible in managing priorities & changes in order to meet strict deadlines,
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
