Manager, Alliance Building

Job Description:

The Manager will develop, in collaboration with ADG and Director of Innovation Policy, a global Innovation network of public health, business, and academic stakeholders to advocate, support and better understand the global bio-pharmaceutical industry's critical contribution to public health through the research, development and availability of innovative and generic medicines for patient needs worldwide.


The Manager will be responsible for building relationships, platforms and alliances with agreed targeted stakeholders in:

  1. Life Science, health care and other Innovative Industries, including biotechnology industries, generic medicines manufacturers, diagnostics, health devices, self medication, health technologies, insurance, hospitals, wholesalers, and other business platforms
  2. Public health field – health professionals associations, patient groups, public health partnerships and foundations, civil society.
  3. Academics and thought leaders
  4. Youth and Students associations

She/he will also be responsible for fostering constructive positions among stakeholders through leveraging and profiling established industry partnerships, as well as IFPMA memberships of other partnerships.

Alliance building will include creating and maintaining contacts between middle and senior management of potential partners, establishing relations for senior management with these partners, securing IFPMA representation at key events, enabling the production of articles and reports, developing joint strategies and projects, including events and position papers.

The Manager will be part of the Innovation Team led by Director of Innovation Policy.


  • Recognized advanced University Degree in public heath, international relations, political sciences or other relevant field.
  • Other tertiary qualification is an advantage.
  • Experience of team working coupled with project management.
  • At least 5 years experience dealing with global health stakeholders, with the significant time spent in the appointed area of responsibility.
  • Experience of working in a relevant organization, pharmaceutical company, trade association, NGO or relevant government/IGO department.
  • Exposure to the dynamics of the public affairs, policy, diplomatic, NGO and trade association environment.
  • Fluency in English – other languages an advantage.
