To support its research strategy, the Biology Department is seeking an Associate Specialist in Fermentation.

 

In this role, you will be part of the Technical Microbiology group and will support the development, innovation and renovation of fermentation processes. You will also participate to key projects to deliver natural taste & texture as well as the optimization of nutritional composition of ingredients or health benefits (i.e. probiotics). Your support will include the setup and operation of fermentation experiments with the aim to release for internal and external tasting.

 

Key responsibilities 
  • Contribute to leading and executing research projects as associated fermentation specialist, scale up of results and executing the optimization of reaction/fermentation conditions in view of feasible applications
  • Provide to explore/develop processes that can deliver on sustainable and affordable fermentation processes
  • Develop and maintain own areas of expertise including writing of impactful publications/communications
  • Focus on good stakeholder management with the aim to transfer and adopt proposed solutions in area of expertise to Nestlé Product Technology Centers, business or markets

 

Required Profile
  • PhD in Fermentation Technology/Microbiology or relevant field, ideally within food and/or related to probiotics
  • Ability to set up and lead research projects

  • Ability to build external partnerships, think strategically and application oriented

  • Proven and actual publication track record

  • Exposed to diverse cultures, international experience would be an asset

  • Fluent in English, any other language a plus
