To drive and lead strategic sourcing scope on the projects as the unique representative of the purchasing function, we are looking for a

Project Sourcing Buyer

based in Yverdon-les-Bains, Vaud, Switzerland

  • He acts as the interface between sourcing and project / product development, innovation, marketing, organization and teams. He ensures sourcing relevant actions are on time and at cost, and propose corrective actions plans if gaps, respecting group sourcing policies and product development processes. He supports the strategic category organization on project related contract negotiations with identified and /or selected partners / suppliers by respecting
  • Purchasing Group Policies.

  • Role & Responsibilities
  • Proactively evaluates opportunities on new technologies, innovations etc. during the phases of the projects (R&D new product, innovation project)

  • Prepares the project relevant inputs on the analysis on global / regional RFQ proposals / packages, supplier selection, negotiation and ensures ongoing communication with stakeholders in collaboration with the global commodity managers

  • Supports the establishment and availability of functional specifications with the stakeholders as base for proper sourcing assessments and TCO evaluations

  • Plans and checks the development plans with the relevant sourcing plans and suppliers

  • Maintains and communicates sourcing planning, master plan, target cost

  • Partners with Strategic Sourcing teams in order to secure global and regional supply base capability and capacity and timely ramp ups

  • Provides the risk assessments on all fields related to sourcing (financial, technical, qualification, supply chain)

  • Evaluates cost at TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) levels through business cases and purchasing leverages

  • Contribute to project material budget cost evaluation with the project

  • Ensures clear communication of the project requirements to the strategic sourcing organization and leads and influences sourcing within the addressed category or products

  • Prevents any deviance on the project (material cost, timeline) and proposes alternative solutions

  • Sources parts for prototypes, pre-series and pilot series as well as ensures availability during the transition to series production (especially important for parts with long delivery time)

  • Proposes innovative solutions, based on a good understanding of the supplier market, able to bring added value on products and processes

Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in engineering, business administration or similar. C.P.M., CIPS will be a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience as industrial project purchaser in an international environment
  • Good knowledge of production techniques and processes

  • Strong analytical skills (risk based) and focus on the essential facts
  • Able to get results through others, able to multi-task, sense of priority, able to handle stress levels
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Creativity and ability for collaboration to increase the performance of the given framework

Languages

  • English & French is a must: fluent spoken and writing
  • German is an asset
