The Global Product Manager has the full strategic and operational responsibility for his/her Market segment with a focus on maximizing profitable revenue growth with the targeted customer groups in collaboration with R&D, Sales, Quality and Operations from innovation concept to end of life.
The role is a key position which is coordinating the global sales activities, the project management and the innovation activities across the world regarding her/his markets in order to manage her/his product portfolio. As a functional leader, she/he sets the strategy, the objectives and standards for the markets and is a key player and coach for other related functions. She/he provides leadership to the Regional Product Managers and the Project Managers regarding her/his product portfolio.
Market strategy: Define the LEM market strategy in coordination with R&D and Sales. This includes on-going market research to understand the customer needs and a technology assessment within the context of the competitive landscape. Translate and formalize this strategy into the long term LEM Strategic Business Plan and in the short term LEM Budget.
Market Development & Portfolio Management: Leading the development of sustainable strategies for all applications and build a global plan to apply the appropriate development efforts. Responsible for monitoring customer requirements for both existing and future products and solutions to support the business. Actively steer R&D in developing products and solutions to market needs and provide the necessary specifications. Position and control the existing and future Motor Control portfolio across the life cycle with a clear phase-in- and phase-out-plan.
New business: Provide studies in the relevant markets to increase further the business and implement the findings across the organisation in line with the global strategy. Defining and executing a go-to-market strategy supporting the sales organization to address the customers while taking the ownership towards innovation organizations (universities and institutes) and other stakeholders like design companies and industrial associations.
Margin Management: Responsible for the profitability of the Motor Control product portfolio. Maximizing the margin of the products in the markets with appropriate price positioning and cost reduction programs.
Technical Knowledge: Responsible for the technical knowledge and its distribution within the company. This includes on-going collection of knowledge (by market research and visits to understand the customer and market needs) and to introduce new products and the respective knowledge about the applications available to the sales force and internal staff. Provide marketing and communication material to the sales teams and perform the training to the internal organization.
Master’s degree in Electronics or Micro-electronics
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a success track record as Product manager or Product marketing manager
Good knowledge of key applications such as Drives or Chargers
Strong organizational and communication/influencing skills
Decisive and action oriented, with strong ability to drive
Experience in Automotive and with ISO26262 is a plus
Experience in Magnetic or Current sensors is a plus
Fluent in English. Mandarin, German or French is a plus
