Embedded Software Engineer

Our partner's team is creating new products and technologies that make this possible. The software team is seeking broad, curious engineers to join their diverse, full-stack team.
In addition to designing, building, and delivering end-to-end robotic systems, the team is responsible for the core infrastructure and tools that serve as the backbone of their robotic applications, enabling roboticists, and software engineers to collaborate and deploy systems in the lab and in the field. The successful candidate will assist in planning and coordinating all activities related to requirements gathering, design (even installing tools to allow customers to design themselves), development and implementation of client information systems and software applications.

The developer will also be responsible for maintaining, supporting and upgrading existing client systems and applications.

The candidate will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills and knowledge of best practices to work with the team on issues related to the design, development and deployment of client oriented, mission-critical information and software systems.

The candidate must be able to clearly communicate both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner.

The successful candidate will be also able to :

Adjust and maintain systems consisting of driven vehicles

Deploy calibration and mapping algorithms

Ensure the proper coordination of a fleet of driven vehicles

Ensure the optimisation of obstacle avoidance and trajectory planning algorithms

Draft of internal and external documentation and new functionalities

Assist customers in the deployment of new functionalities

Manage associated maintenance

Provide support to the team regarding problems encountered


Master's Degree or PhD in Software engineering or related engineering degree.

A minimum of 3 years of prior related experience

5+ years direct experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management.

5+ years of experience with Python, Java and C++ *

Experience with hardware-software integration, good understanding of various communications protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS232.

Experience preferred with the extraction of features in algorithms

Strong ability to grasp and apply new information quickly, high attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and enthusiastic attitude,

Good communication and documentation skills.
