Accounts Assistant 80%

ASC Languages SA is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant /Book-keeper at 80%

Reporting to the Director General, this post may feature flexible working hours and a degree of working from home may be possible.

Applicants should be mother-tongue or fluent in English (written and spoken) with a good working knowledge of French (B2 minimum, written and spoken)

A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required and knowledge of GIT accounting and Swiss accounting practices would be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accounts Assistant 80%

Sales Ledger (SL)

Prepare invoices and credit notes

Credit control/aging lists

Doubtful debts, write offs, debt recovery

Book payments received (daily)

Make client refunds

Purchase Ledger (PL)

Approval signatures

Check and post invoices

Post mgt staff credit cards

Post and pay monthly invoices - leases, rents, etc.

Pay supplier invoices

Dealing with suppliers

Monitor aging creditors

General Ledger (GL)

Calculate and post monthly release of deferred revenue

Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts - banks, aging drs/crs, supplier & client advances, payroll,

prepayments, accruals)

Post monthly depreciation

Post monthly prepayments

Post monthly accruals

Maintain Fixed Asset Register (FAR)

Save monthly bank statements PDF to file

Cash/Banking

Post bank transactions (daily)

Post monthly petty cash transactions per centre

Maintain POS account (client credit card payments)

Post POS receipts

Payroll

Check and pay AEOs (attachment of earnings orders = poursuites)

Ensure payroll journal balances

Post payroll journal

Control and pay IS x2 monthly

Control and pay LPP (monthly payment plan/quarterly statement), LAA, PDG (quarterly)

Pay AVS monthly

Support individual employee questions re tax etc.

General

Manage issues and control access to GIT accounting/invoicing
