Senior Embedded Backend Software Developer
Our transversal Group Technology R&D is looking for a Senior Embedded Backend Software Developer to complete the team and build up a new Embedded Backend platform for our Product Lines. You will be working in an industrial environment with embedded equipment and closely partner with cross functional teams and experts in our organization.

The production site of Mex, near Lausanne in Switzerland, is also the headquarters of the Bobst Group. It is the most important site, employing approx. 1500 passionate people.
It also trains each year roughly 200 apprentices. The site offers an idyllic work environment. In the countryside and close to major highways, it is also well served by public transport. It offers many amenities, such as a corporate restaurant, sports fields, a fitness and a nursery. The facilities have been recently renovated and represent a model for sustainable development.
In this function you will be entrusted with the following main tasks:
- Defining and building a new unified embedded backend architecture within the Backend Platform Team
- Development of microservices for this new backend solution (for frontend and IoT)
- Maintaining/Improving the embedded backend setup and deployment
- Working with Azure DevOps tools, including the creation of automated testing and deployment pipelines
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement software requirements using architecture best practices
- Defining test specifications and implement automated tests
- Writing documentation in English
For this function you bring the following requirements:
- Proven working experience with modern micro service frameworks (Node.js, .Net Core)
- Very good JavaScript, TypeScript, C# knowledge
- Experience in using and configuring databases (especially PostgreSQL)
- Experience in OPC-UA
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker in an embedded Windows/Linux systems
- Good knowledge in the usage and design of REST APIs and knowledge about automated testing of micro services is helpful (integrated in DevOps Azure)
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline
- Team spirit oriented
- Mindset Agile
- Curious to learn new things
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge
- Very good spoken and written English and French desirable
