Following an internal transfer, we are recruiting a Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) Scientist at our headquarters and biotech production site in Geneva. Reporting to the Head of MSAT and working in close collaboration with different departments (Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Qualification & Validation), your mission is to prepare and execute activities related to process development and optimization applied in the Purification sector.

Your main responsibilities are as follows:

• Write protocols, batch records, worksheets, and reports related to development activities and analyse/interpretate the generated data
• Support studies for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA implementation and production support needs in USP & DSP fields
• Propose and test Upstream (microbial cultures) & Downstream optimization and development of new processes (bacterial lysis and purification by filtration) using scale-down approaches and rationalization of assays by design of experiment (work on laboratory, pilot and industrial scales)
• Contribute to develop scale-down and equivalence models to faster industrial transposition
• Prepare data for the writing of the Change Control for industrial implementation of new/optimized processes and organize the implementation of changes in production
• Ensure robust traceability of the data generated and manage related documentation
• Manage USP and DSP lab facilities, equipment and consumable stock

To carry out this mission, we are looking for a person with the following profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology or Microbiology, or equivalent educational background
• 3-5 years of experience in downstream process development/optimization within a biotech company
• Good knowledge of industrial transposition
• Fluent in French with good written skills in English
