System Engineer Hydrogen (f/m/d), 80-100%
In order to develop Alpiq's hydrogen activities in Europe, we are looking for a System Engineer Hydrogen to design and manage hydrogen production and logistic projects from a technology point of view. This position is at the forefront of the global energy transition and represents a unique opportunity to get involved in this fast-growing sector. The role is to be based at our offices in Switzerland.
Your main responsibilities
- Contributing to the development of hydrogen production (i.e. electrolysers) and logistic projects and leading technical aspects
- Working closely with Business Development colleagues and contributing to the elaboration of business plans and investment cases
- Organising feasibility / concept studies inhouse and with external partners
- Providing engineering support for the permitting during the authorisation phases of projects
- Leading the equipment tendering and the selection process
- Supervising the detailed studies performed by partners/suppliers, the construction and commissioning
- Organising O&M and ensuring operation is in compliance with company health, safety and environmental regulations and procedures
- Contributing to the definition of the internal project management process
- Developing a strong network in the industry and with equipment suppliers
- Fostering collaboration within Alpiq, working with other units and international teams Qualifications
Your qualifications
- A master's degree in Engineering from a top leading school (energy, industrial engineering, chemical engineering)
- At least 10 years of experience in the development of industrial projects, previous experience in the hydrogen industry or in industrial gases will be a key advantage
- Excellent analytical and planning skills and solid project management experience
- Out-of-the box thinker with innovative problem-solving skills
- Good influencing and negotiation skills, ability to motivate others and foster a collaborative mindset with internal as well as external stakeholders and across different functions
- Self-motivated, autonomous worker with strong organization and prioritization skills
- Professional proficiency level in English
- Professional proficiency level in French or German with a good knowledge of the other language
- Knowledge of Italian or Spanish will be an advantage
