As a "Junior Sensory Specialist", under the supervision of the Sensory Laboratory Manager and as an active team player, you will lead sensory activities related to new product development for Nespresso's portfolio. You will be in charge of sensory studies from definition to execution and reporting, and will set the sensory evaluation methodologies and protocols.
In this position, you will plan, prepare, and run your own panel sessions while maintaining a high level of panel performance. You will also support colleagues from the laboratory in the execution of their panel sessions. In this team-oriented function, you will collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, giving you full exposure to Nespresso's product development projects.

A Day in the Life of a Junior Sensory Specialist
- Lead your own sensory studies from design to report
- Plan, organize & run panel sessions for the entire studies
- Prepare samples, machines, extractions for panel sessions
- Clean datasets, run statistical analysis and report
- Support data global mapping: producing data and merging datasets
- Source and store products for test
- Be an actor of continuous improvement in laboratory (Good Laboratory Practices, Nestlé Continuous Excellence, sensory evaluation methods)
- Pilot applications and software for the creation, reporting and traceability of data generation and treatment (EYEQUESTION sensory software, SharePoint applications, data analysis macros)
- Update and report weekly and monthly KPI's of lab activities, sensory performance, and quality system.
- Propose new protocols, procedures, and quality control
- Align and nurture discussion with laboratory team members on ways of working, protocols, lexicon, and methodologies
What will make you successful
- Passionate about food, beverages and particularly coffee
- CFC, HES, DUT, Bachelor or equivalent in food science and technology
- At least 2-3 years' practical experience in sensory evaluation and methodologies
- Knowledge in statistics, ability to interpret results and writing reports
- Knowledge of quality systems and laboratory procedures
- Knowledge in coffee a strong plus
- Strong organization and planification skills
- Good interpersonal skills and team player mindset
- At ease, curious and fast learning with common and new IS/IT applications (Windows environment, SharePoint, sensory software/sensory data base)
- Fluency in French and English
